Well...

tired

current mood: tired

I'm back from JMU orientation, and I'm all registered for my classes. All my Gen Ed transferred, but I need to take an additional philosophy class (as if I mind that). I have a pretty full schedule for the fall--six classes, and all of them theatre/musical theatre-related! It's going to be intense, but I think I'll love it.

I also found out some of the shows that they're doing this year--among others, "1776," "Angels in America," (I assume both of them) "Shakespeare's R&J" (I thought of you for that one, Bevan!), and "The Mystery of Edwin Drood." I'm pretty damned happy with that selection, I have to say. I would LOVE to be in "Drood" especially. Something tells me that if I were to get a main role, it would be Princess Puffer. I am SO one with my inner character actress.

"1776" would be great too, except I'm too mezzo for Abigail and I'm not really right for Martha (although "He Plays the Violin" IS an awesome song). And it just hit me that the guy in charge of the musical theatre program must be some kind of Betty Buckley freak, hehe.

Oh...and there's a 70/30 female to male ratio at JMU. Which is VERY good for the menfolk and not such a sweet deal for the gals.

Now for a looooong nap. I'm beat.

That's the cutest icon EVER.

Oooh!! One of the girls from the class of 2004 at my old school in NJ is going to JMU as a freshman next year!

Thanks, sweetie!

Is your friend going to be a theatre major?

I could really see you as either Hannah or Harper in "Angels In America".

Awww, thanks! I'd love to play Harper, but there are about 200 theatre majors, so I don't think I'd have much of a shot. Maybe I can get involved with "AiA" even if I don't get cast!

(One of the student advisors, black and very gay, was telling me that he wanted to play Belize...it was very cute).

The great thing about Drood is, even if yer not a main character, you get to have fun with the audience members throughout the whole show. I think that Drood is the perfect show to be in the ensemble of, because it's so much fun for absolutely EVERYONE!

But I hope you get Puffer!

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't turn down a role in the ensemble, but Puffer is just so perfect for me vocally (and I do a mean Cockney accent, hehe). It should be fun either way!
